the left panel is the paper negative (inverted in PS).
the right panel is the original.
i didn't see her at all in the original.
i didn't even see her in the negative, not even after inverting it and adjusting the contrast.
i didn't see her until today in fact, when i placed them next to each other to do a diptych.
at first i only saw her in the negative panel.
i had to look very, very hard to find her in the original, but i see her now, hiding there, in the darkness...
this shot was taken indoors, no flash, at my husband's parents house, 2 weeks ago
the woman in the left panel is my husband's mom.
she died in 2006.
